Psychotherapy , Counselling, Single session counselling and coaching: update January 2022
Hello thanks for stopping by my website! I offer psychotherapy, counselling, single session counselling and coaching. I am now working face to face with clients as well as via Skype, Zoom, WhataApp video or telephone.
I believe we can all live a happy and fulfilling life, but sometimes things get in the way. This can be feeling overwhelmed by a major life event such as a bereavement, trauma, relationship breakdown, redundancy, retirement or it may something that has been a feature of your life for a long time such as anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, low confidence, poor body image, intimacy or sexual problems, phobias or addictions.
Whatever it is that is blocking you and causing you distress making the decision to deal with it is a really important step forward - probably the most difficult!
How Can therapy help?
The first thing to say is that therapy is not a "quick fix" or a miracle cure. Therapy can help you to explore the issues you have in a safe and confidential environment , giving you the time and space to do what you need to do. You might want to talk about difficult events in your life, or your relationships and emotions. You might want to change negative thoughts or ways of viewing the world and change your behaviours. Whatever it is that is causing you distress, I will not offer advice or tell you what to do, but instead , I will listen to you and sometimes offer gentle challenges to help you understand yourself better and make positive changes in your life.
There is no requirement to do a certain number of sessions and I can't say that any issue takes a certain number of sessions, I will be lead by you as to how you think you are doing but equally I will be honest and tell you if I feel we are stuck and have gone as far as we are able.
